SSU declares russian air regiment commander suspect: he ordered strikes on Ukraine’s power system with Kh-101 missiles
The Security Service of Ukraine has collected evidence on another russian war criminal involved in missile attacks on Ukraine’s critical infrastructure.
This is colonel Oleg Skitsky, commander of the 121st heavy bomber regiment of the russian air force.
The investigation documented that on his orders his subordinates had carried out massive air attacks on Ukraine’s energy system.
The targets were key energy generating enterprises and power substations in Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Kirovohrad and Vinnytsia regions.
To carry out the attacks, the occupiers launched Tu-95 bomber aircraft, from which they fired strategic cruise missiles Kh-101 at Ukraine.
The strikes resulted in deaths and dozens of injuries among Ukraine’s civilian population.
In addition, russia’s attacks on our critical infrastructure led to massive blackouts in residential buildings, hospitals, schools and kindergartens during the cold season.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified Skitsky of suspicion in absentia under Articles 28.2, 438.1, 28.2, 438.2 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).
Efforts are underway to bring him to justice for crimes against Ukraine.
The investigation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
