SBU announces suspicion to former head of Odesa Sea Trade Port
SBU investigators announced suspicion to a former head of the state enterprise Odesa Sea Trade Port. He is reasonably suspected of causing UAH 142 m (USD 5 m) state losses.
According to the investigation, during 2018-2019, one of the former heads of the state port enterprise leased tugs to commercial companies at significantly lower rates.
The SBU established that illegal actions of the official resulted in receiving excess profits by the companies from ship owners designated as government revenues.
The pre-trial investigation into official negligence is ongoing.
In Odesa, during a working visit the President of Ukraine emphasized the importance and urgency of investigation of the criminal schemes at a briefing of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
