SSU serves notice of suspicion to member of ‘Storm V’ unit who killed Ukrainian PoW
The SSU has collected evidence against another russian occupier who shot Ukrainian prisoners of war.
The perpetrator is Dmitry Kurashov, a repeatedly convicted rifleman of the Storm-V assault unit of the 127th motorized rifle division of russia’s Eastern military district.
According to the investigation, on 6 January this year Kurashov shot dead a Ukrainian soldier who had been captured by ruscists during a human wave attack.
He made at least 3 aimed shots at the captured Ukrainian serviceman.
Soon, the Ukrainian unit counterattacked the invaders and captured Kurashov and other members of his squad.
During interrogation, another captured ruscist told the investigators about Kurashov’s actions, and later the SSU collected other indisputable evidence of the perpetrator’s guilt in the murder of the Ukrainian PoW.
The SSU served Kurashov a notice of suspicion under Article 438.2 of the CCU (violation of laws and customs of war, combined with premeditated murder).
The suspect is in custody, facing life imprisonment.
The investigation is carried out by the SSU Office in Zaporizhzhia region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
