SSU declares Aksyonov’s associates suspects for organizing branches of kremlin ‘mass media’ in Crimea
The SSU has collected evidence on another two collaborators who collaborate with the occupiers in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
These are Serhiy Veselovskiy and Serhiy Yukhin, who position themselves as political technologists and are part of gauleiter Aksyonov’s circle.
On his instructions, they organized ‘branches’ of the kremlin’s central mouthpieces on the peninsula: the south-eastern front news agency and the Krym 24 online portal.
Through these outlets, the occupiers spread russian propaganda justifying russia’s armed aggression and denying ruscists’ war crimes.
Yukhin himself has repeatedly appeared on enemy broadcasts, calling for physical elimination of Ukrainians and seizure of entire Ukraine.
According to the investigation, both suspects supported the invaders during the seizure of Crimea.
Then, as public figures, they participated in the organization of pro-russian mass events in Crimea.
Later, they set up local centres to spread moscow propaganda, receiving money for such ‘projects’ from russia’s local occupation administration.
Based on the evidence collected, SSU investigators notified Veselovsky and Yukhin of suspicion in absentia under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.6 (collaboration);
- 436-2.3 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
Yukhin’s actions are additionally qualified under Article 442.2 of the CCU (genocide).
The suspects are hiding from prosecution in the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea; efforts are underway to bring them to justice.
The investigation was carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol.
