SSU declares russian top official suspect for organizing ferry transfer of russian troops to Ukraine
The SSU is systemically exposing crimes of russian high-ranking officials involved in the war of aggression against Ukraine.
As a result of an investigation, the SSU collected evidence against Zakhariy Dzhioev, head of russia’s federal maritime and river transport agency (‘rosmorrichflot’).
Since the start of the full-scale invasion, the official assisted russia’s Ministry of Defence in transferring troops to the territory of Ukraine.
On his orders, ferries of the russian company Oboronlogistika LLC were involved in organizing maritime traffic from Krasnodar krai to the temporarily occupied Mariupol in August 2022.
Subsequently, after the explosion on the Crimean bridge, Dzhioev ordered to set up a ferry crossing from russia to the Ukrainian peninsula.
In this way, the invaders transported personnel, military equipment and ammunition of russian occupation groupings to the southern front.
The ruscists also used the ferries to transport stolen Ukrainian grain to the aggressor state.
Based on the collected evidence, the SSU notified Dzhioev of suspicion under Articles 27.5 and 437.2 of the CCU (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war).
Since the suspect is in russia, comprehensive efforts are underway to hold him to account for crimes against Ukraine. The offender is facing up to 15 years in prison.
The investigation was conducted under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
