SSU serves suspicion notices to three former MPs from party of regions
The SSU has collected new evidence against former MPs Oleh Tsarev, Dmytro Sviatash and Ihor Markov, who assisted russia in waging an aggressive war against Ukraine.
They are currently hiding from justice in the aggressor state.
Based on the new evidence, SSU investigators notified all three MPs of suspicion under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
According to the investigation, Oleg Tsarev cooperated with the leadership of the russian ministry of defence after the start of the full-scale invasion.
Investigators ascertained that the former MP had provided information to the aggressor on the consequences of enemy air strikes on Ukraine’s territory.
It was he who passed to occupiers detailed information on the impact of a missile attack on Kremenchuk oil refinery.
Tsarev received the data from another member of the party of regions - Dmytro SVIATASH.
After 24 February 2022, SvIatash actively supported the aggressor state, which is why the kremlin considered him a potential gauleiter for Kharkiv region.
The ex-MP passed information to invaders on weapons, time, and directions of movement of the Defence Forces units in the region.
The traitor obtained this intelligence through his ‘party’ connections in Kharkiv oblast.
Another suspect, former party of regions MP Ihor Markov, regularly justified russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
Videos of his provocative speeches were repeatedly broadcast on major russian TV channels.
SSU investigators additionally qualified Markov’s criminal actions under two Articles of the CCU:
- 436 (propaganda of war);
- 436-2 (justification, recognition as legitimate, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).
The investigation is ongoing.
Earlier, the SSU served these persons notices of suspicion of committing other crimes against Ukraine’s state security.
The investigation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Vinnytsia and Odesa regions under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
