SSU notifies ex-minister of education of Yanukovych government of suspicion of high treason
The SSU has collected evidence of crimes against Ukraine’s national security committed by the former minister of education and science dmytro tabachnyk. Since 2014, this individual has been hiding from Ukrainian justice in the temporarily occupied Crimea.
SSU investigators established that after russia’s large-scale invasion the ex-member of the party of regions actively ‘advised’ the heads of russian occupation administrations in Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.
The SSU has evidence of his close cooperation with enemy special services, including, for example, ‘memos’ with detailed reports on ‘completed assignments’.
According to the investigation, the former top official personally helps to ‘mobilize’ the educational resource of the region to support the occupation regime.
In addition, he had passed to the fsb information on heads of Ukrainian higher educational establishments, who were later persuaded to cooperate with the invaders. Dissenters were subjected to repression and persecution.
Investigators also documented tabachnik’s active participation in the organization of sham referenda in the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine.
Under his direct instructions, the so-called ‘polling stations’ were set up in educational and medical facilities.
The traitor was notified of suspicion in absentia of crime under Article 111.2 of the CCU (high treason committed under martial law).
The SSU emphasizes that crimes against the foundations of national security have no statute of limitations. The SSU is acting to bring the culprits to justice.
The SSU Office in Vinnytsia Region exposed and documented the offence under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s office.
