SBU serves suspicion notice to “deputy minister of disinformation” of DNR terrorist organization
SBU cyber specialists helped to convict the so-called DNR Deputy Minister of Information who was accused of committing crimes against the Ukraine's national security.
SBU investigators established that the offender, being the “Deputy Minister of Information” of the DNR quasi-state entity, coordinated the activities of local “media”. The pseudo-media were operated in the temporarily occupied territory of Donetsk region and used by Russian curators to conduct information operations against the Ukraine's interests.
The SBU documented that the official personally prepared and distributed false information about Ukraine via the Internet. He promoted the ideas of “russkiy mir” and “Novorossia”, called for the violation of territorial integrity and forcible change of the constitutional order of Ukraine.
The propagandist was suspected of encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to 10 years of imprisonment.
Investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Donetsk Region Prosecutor's Office.
