Taisiia Povaliy under investigation for calling to seize all of Ukraine
The SSU has collected evidence against singer and former member of parliament Taisiia Povaliy for justifying russia’s aggressive war against Ukraine.
Before russia’s full-scale invasion, she moved to the aggressor state, publicly supported the kremlin and received russian citizenship.
In an interview with a moscow-based online publication, Povaliy praised putin and called for occupation of all of Ukraine’s territory.
She also tried to discredit Ukrainian defenders who took part in the battles for Kyiv.
Among other things, Povaliy performed at a concert in the temporarily occupied Luhansk in September 2023 at the invitation of the terrorist Pasichnyk.
On stage, the singer spoke in support of the russian invaders and glorified their participation in the war against Ukraine.
The SSU-initiated examination confirmed the suspect’s subversive activities against Ukraine.
Based on the evidence, the SSU served Taisiia Povaliy a notice of suspicion in absentia under three Articles of the CCU:
- 111-1.6 (collaboration);
- 436 (public calls for aggressive war);
- 436-2.1 (justification, recognition of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine as legitimate).
The suspect is in russia. Efforts are underway to bring her to justice.
The investigation was conducted by the SSU Office in Vinnytsia region under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
