SBU continues to document involvement of Ukrainskyi Vybir NGO in occupation of Crimea

The Security Service of Ukraine is conducting investigative actions against members of Ukrainskyi Vybir NGO. Today, the SBU conducted 20 searches of the leadership and representatives of the organization to document the illegal activities of these persons.

The searches took place in more than ten Ukrainian regions. The seized evidence was added to the case file.

The law enforcement is investigating the NGO’s assistance in holding an illegal referendum and elections in the AR of Crimea and in the city of Sevastopol in March 2014.

To remind, the pre-trial investigation already established that the members of Ukrainskyi Vybir NGO actively supported and continue to support illegal authorities during the occupation of the AR of Crimea and afterwards. They were members of election commissions and polling stations, participated in the activities of the “Crimean Self-Defense” IAF.

IAF members illegally persecuted pro-Ukrainian activists, seized administrative buildings of Ukrainian authorities and guarded illegally established polling stations in the AR of Crimea and in the city of Sevastopol during the so-called referendum on March 16, 2014.

The investigation is ongoing upon the fact of forgery in office. The issue of serving the participants suspicion notices of high treason and encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine is being settled. The previously exposed NGO representatives already received suspicion notices.

The investigative actions are carried out under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol city.
