The SBU conducted scheduled anti-terrorist drills in the city of Kyiv. According to scenario, conditional terrorists blew up the metro station platform and took hostages in a car. The drills were held under conditions close to actual operation.

Initially, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and the Kyiv Emergency Service extinguished the fire. Wounded people were evacuated to safety.

Afterwards, the staff of the Center for Emergency Care and Disaster Medicine of the Kyiv City State Administration and the Ukrainian Red Cross Society separated the victims seriously injured to provide them with emergency first aid.

During the strength training, the SBU Center of Special Operations “A” released the “hostages” from the car and, as a result detained the “terrorists”.

“The key objective of the drills is to improve the skills of negotiation, detention of criminals and elimination of the consequences of emergency, as well as victim evacuation techniques in emergency conditions. All counter-terrorism officers have coped with their tasks during the anti-terrorist operation at the unified transport system, “summarized Colonel Yevhen Aidemskyi, one of the leaders of the Coordination Group of the SBU Anti-Terrorist Center in Kyiv and Kyiv region.
