Mykolaiv region: SBU conducts large-scale anti-terrorist drills
The coordination group of the SBU Anti-Terrorist Center carried out large-scale trainings at a military facility in Mykolaiv region.
According to the exercise script, several enemy groups were to carry out a sabotage at a military unit in the city of Ochakiv, and a series of terrorist attacks at the city's critical infrastructure to destabilize the socio-political situation in the region.
The aim of the trainings was to increase the level of interagency cooperation during anti-terrorist operations at critical infrastructure facilities in the region.
The participants successfully coped with the set tasks thanks to coordinated and effective actions. The maneuver enemy failed to enter the military facility and detonate a bomb there. In addition, the participants successfully protected the city's critical infrastructure. During the trainings, part of the conditional sabotage-reconnaissance group was identified and detained, and the consequences of their subversive activities were eliminated.
Among the participants of the trainings were the SBU units, the Ukrainian Army, the National Police, the National Guard, the State Border Guard Service, the State Emergency Service, as well as representatives of state authorities and local government. The drills were conducted in near-real conditions.
The leadership of the SBU ATC Headquarters analyzed each stage of the exercises and noted the appropriate level of training of the participants. The security forces also received additional recommendations on how to increase the protection level of strategic facilities in the region and the effectiveness of counter-sabotage activity.
