SBU conducts searches of structures involved in preparation and ratification of Kharkiv Agreements
The officers of the SBU Main Investigation Department conducted searches in the administrative buildings of the authorities involved in the preparation and ratification of the so-called “Kharkiv agreements”. The investigation was conducted in order to establish and document all the circumstances.
Among other things, searches were conducted in:
- The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, in particular its committees;
- Main Scientific and Expert Department of the Verkhovna Rada;
- National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine;
- Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine;
- The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine together with the State Bureau of Investigation.
During the searches, the documents were found. The documents show that the leadership of the state, before signing and accepting these documents, was aware of their consequences.
In particular, signing of these documents led to increasing of the number of personnel of Russian military formations and special services, which later participated in the annexation of Crimea. Also, the economic interests were damaged badly.
The SBU conducts appropriate investigative and procedural actions, complying with all the requirements of current legislation, under supervision of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The SBU will regularly inform the public about the progress of the case.
