The SSU and the National police have cooperatively carried out a range of searches in the administrative office building of the Uzhhorod City Council so that check on the local MPs` reasons for travelling abroad.

As stated by the investigation, the local MPs inserted inaccurate details into official documents on official trips.

To specify, the fictitious invitations of affiliated foreign entities appeared to have been used for a foreign trip processing. Concealing the illicit activity, the defendants neglected to register the papers, yet didn`t insert the signed documents on official trip into the electronic document exchange system of the city council.

Thus, on such official trips the defendants for sure embarked on foreign vacations during the war.

In view of clarifying all the circumstances of the crime and bring the perpetrators to justice, investigative actions are ongoing within the criminal proceedings under Part 3 of Art. 332 of the CCU (illegal transportation of persons across the state border of Ukraine).

The sanction of the article envisages a penalty of up to 9 years of imprisonment with a deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or engage in a certain activity for up to three years with forfeiture of property.

The comprehensive measures are being carried out by the SSU in Zakarpattia region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Zakarpattia Regional Prosecutor's Office.
