SSU carries out security measures in Sumy

The SSU is conducting counterintelligence (security) measures in Sumy. The National Police, the AFU Military Law Enforcement Service and the National Guard are involved in these efforts, too.

These measures will cover the entire city.

The goal is to prevent and neutralize threats of reconnaissance and sabotage activities against our country, prevent provocations and improve the safety of citizens in the context of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.

These activities are carried out in accordance with the regime of martial law.

They may include restrictions on passage and traffic on the streets, checking identification documents and inspecting cars. If there is reasonable suspicion about individuals, they may be subject to additional checks.

The territory and public areas will be inspected and checked for prohibited items.

The SSU asks citizens to understand possible inconveniences and respond appropriately to lawful actions and demands of the law enforcement, to have IDs with them, and to observe the curfew.

We emphasize that in its activities, the SSU adheres to the principle of legality and constitutional inviolability of citizens’ rights and freedoms.
