SSU conducts security measures downtown Kyiv
The Security Service is conducting planned counterintelligence (security) activities in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kyiv, in particular on St. Sophia and St. Michael's Squares and the adjacent area.
The purpose is to check and strengthen the counter-sabotage protection of critical public facilities and crowded places.
The SSU is carrying out these activities jointly with the Department of the State Protection, the National Police, the AFU Military Law Enforcement Service and other units involved in the defense of the capital.
The law enforcement officers are:
- inspecting the territory and individual premises (apartments, offices, common areas of apartment buildings, public service facilities, etc.) to identify prohibited items;
- checking citizens in the central part of the city.
The measures are held in compliance with the legal regime of martial law.
During them, passage for individuals and vehicles can be restricted, IDs can be checked, vehicles - inspected.
The SSU is apologizing for possible inconveniences and is kindly asking to respond appropriately to lawful actions and requests of law enforcement officers, to carry identification documents and observe the curfew.
We emphasize that in its activity the SSU adheres to the principle of legality and constitutional inviolability of citizens’ rights and freedoms.
