SSU conducts security measures in Kyiv’s government quarter and nearby areas

The Security Service of Ukraine is carrying out counterintelligence (security) measures in Kyiv’s Pecherskyi and Shevchenkivskyi districts, in particular, the government quarter and adjacent territories.

The activities are carried out under the legal regime of martial law with the direct participation of the State Protection Department, the National Police, the AFU Military Law Enforcement Service and the Kyiv Defence Forces Grouping.

The purpose is to check the counter-sabotage protection of state facilities, as well as to enhance security of Kyiv residents and persons under state protection.

This is especially important in the context of russia’s armed aggression, as the enemy is trying to destabilize the socio-political situation in Ukraine by all means.

With the direct participation of the State Protection Department, the security officials are:

  • inspecting the territory and individual premises (apartments, offices, common areas of apartment buildings, public service facilities, etc.) to identify if there are prohibited items;
  • checking individuals on the territory of the government quarter.

During such measures, passage and traffic on Kyiv’s streets may be restricted, IDs may be checked, and vehicles may be inspected.

The SSU apologizes for possible inconveniences and asks you to respond appropriately to lawful actions and requests of law enforcement officers, to carry identification documents and observe the curfew.

We emphasize that in its activity the SSU adheres to the principle of legality and constitutional inviolability of citizens’ rights and freedoms.
