SSU conducts counter-sabotage activities near Russian border: dozens of weapons seized, entry of 150 individuals banned (video)

The SSU continues to prevent and neutralize threats of intelligence and subversive activities against our state. To take a whole range of preventive measures, multi-stage drills are held throughout the country.

In just a few days of such work, an arsenal of weapons, including firearms, ammunition and over 1 kg of explosives, were seized.

The SSU also established facts of transportation of prohibited items in the border areas and near the coastline.

In the result of counter-sabotage efforts, the law enforcement detained 9 criminals wanted for committing serious crimes.

Following the SSU investigations, 12 foreigners involved in subversive activities against the state security of Ukraine have been banned from entering our country. 150 individuals were refused entry to Ukraine.

During inspection of vehicles, the law enforcement uncovered:

  • 2 explosive devices,
  • 10 firearms,
  • ammunition, including two RGD-5 and F-1 grenades.

The seized items were sent for forensic examination.

Over 170 criminal proceedings have been registered upon the revealed facts of illegal activity. Investigations are underway to establish all the circumstances of offences and bring the perpetrators to justice.

To remind, the SSU is conducting large-scale multi-stage exercises in most regions of Ukraine. The focus of the training is to practice activities to protect the state border and strategically important entities.

Exercises are conducted in conditions as close to real as possible with the use of special equipment and weapons.

The exercises are conducted by Coordination Groups of the Counterterrorism Center at the SSU regional offices.
