SSU conducts raids to check radiation safety after russia’s provocations related to dirty bomb (video)
The SSU Counterintelligence, together with other units of Ukrainian Defence Forces, is conducting large-scale raids to check the state of radiation safety across Ukraine. Such measures are due to the kremlin’s constant threats and provocations related to the use of a ‘dirty’ bomb.
No hazardous radioactive materials have been found as a result of the comprehensive inspections.
In just one week, the agencies involved have inspected hundreds of public places and critical infrastructure facilities, as well as thousands of vehicles that could potentially be used by russian saboteurs to transport radioactive materials.
The SSU has paid special attention to monitoring checkpoints in the frontline and de-occupied areas, border crossing points, etc.
During such raids, the law enforcement agencies also work out joint action algorithms and mechanisms for prompt response to nuclear threats from the aggressor state.
The SSU carried out the activities jointly with the radiation, chemical and biological protection units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Guard and the State Border Guard Service.
