The SSU has blocked the activities of another network of enemy Internet agitators, which included 11 individuals from different oblasts of Ukraine.

They used messenger apps and social media to spread kremlin fakes about the war in Ukraine, picking up content for their ‘publications’ from russian propaganda Internet resources.

In Kyiv region:

The SSU Counterintelligence exposed a businessman who on his Facebook page denied russia’s armed aggression and claimed that the war in Ukraine was an ‘internal civil conflict’.

In Chernihiv region:

The SSU stopped the activities of two propagandists who posted publications in support of the kremlin’s aggressive policy and condoled the occupiers’ losses on the banned social network Odnoklassniki.

In Dnipropetrovsk region:

four local residents were exposed on calling for cooperation with the invaders and discrediting the Defence Forces on social media and in their close circle.

In Kharkiv region:

The SSU detained an enemy accomplice who was posting propaganda videos on Facebook glorifying russian occupiers.

In addition, in Odesa:

The SSU served notice of suspicion to an administrator of an anonymous Telegram chat created to collect information on movement of Ukrainian military equipment in the region.

Another administrator was detained in February 2023 as a result of a special operation of the SSU.

The investigations are underway in the framework of criminal proceedings under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111-1 (collaboration);
  • 436-2 (justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants).

The activities were carried out by SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, Dnipropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Odesa, Chernihiv and Kharkiv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
