SSU dismantles FSB agent network which operated in several regions of Ukraine (video)
The SSU exposed and detained members of an interregional agent network of the russian FSB, which collected information for the enemy on military and strategic facilities across Ukraine.
The network was managed by a resident of Odesa. He was recruited by the FSB and got the nickname Professor.
To fulfil the russians’ assignments, he created an extensive group of agents and informants involving residents of other regions, whom he paid for their ‘work.’
For the FSB, he was looking for potential agents, who would be ready to gather intelligence and adjust enemy strikes.
The russian special service was interested in information on the location of decision-making centers and strategic critical infrastructure in various regions of Ukraine.
In the course of a special operation, the SSU documented that Professor received and completed FSB’s tasks to collect intelligence on:
- air defence forces, anti-ship complexes and artillery in Odesa region;
- fortifications and features of the facilities of the SSU in Odesa region and the Operational Command South;
- social and political situation in Odesa.
The SSU also documented numerous facts of receiving monetary rewards, taking photos and shooting video of location of military units, for which Professor purchased a special gadget at the expense of the FSB.
The SSU special purpose unit detained Professor red-handed – during reconnaissance of Odesa Military Administration.
One of Professor’s agents in Ivano-Frankivsk region has also been detained.
He received an instruction from the FSB to collect data on:
- location of military facilities in the region;
- movement of Ukrainian military equipment to the front;
- location and work of checkpoints;
- location and activity of regional ‘decision-making centers’.
The investigators are preparing notices of suspicion of treason (Article 111.2 of the CCU).
The investigation is ongoing to establish everyone involved in the network’s activity and bring them to justice.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Odesa and Ivano-Frankivsk regions under the procedural supervision of Odesa and Ivano-Frankivsk regional prosecutor’s offices.
