SSU finds another two collaborators who forced Kherson residents to ‘vote’ in russia’s sham referendum
The SSU has exposed another two collaborators who participated in organizing russia’s illegal referendum in the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast. They were responsible for ‘mobile voting’ and personally came to residents with ‘ballot boxes’ urging them to ‘vote for the region’s accession’ to russia.
To ensure the ‘required’ number of ‘votes’, the traitors were accompanied by armed occupiers.
If people refused to participate in the fake plebiscite, the ‘officials’ threatened with imprisonment in russian torture chambers and ‘confiscation’ of private property.
For participating in such ‘raids’, the aggressor’s accomplices received RUB 50,000 as a one-time reward from the invaders.
According to the investigation, the suspects are two local women who, after the occupation, supported the enemy and were appointed to the occupation ‘election commission’.
After the liberation of the right-bank part of Kherson oblast, one of them fled to Mykolaiv and was hiding from justice in a rented apartment.
The SSU established her location and apprehended her.
The other collaborator was detained in her own home in Zymivnyk village.
Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified both detainees of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 111-1.5 of the CCU (collaboration, committed by a group of persons upon prior conspiracy).
The suspects are in custody, facing up to 10 years in prison with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Kherson region and in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
