SSU and NABU expose MP who ‘sold’ land of Agrarian Sciences National Academy for USD 85,000

The SSU jointly with the NABU have exposed a current member of Ukrainian parliament on large-scale corruption.

For money, the official promised a businessman to provide state land plots of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine for cultivation.

The law enforcement documented the parliamentarian’s criminal actions and exposed him ‘red-handed’ when he received the first part of a USD 85,000 bribe.

Criminal proceeding was initiated under Article 368.4 of the CCU (acceptance of an offer, promise or receipt of an unlawful benefit by an official). Investigators will serve a notice of suspicion to the MP and his two accomplices.

The investigation is ongoing. The offenders are facing up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out under the procedural supervision of the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office and with the assistance of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
