SSU and SBI detain collaborator who helped ruscists torture Ukrainian patriots during Kherson occupation
The SSU and the State Bureau of Investigation have apprehended another former official who collaborated with russia during the occupation of Kherson.
He was a junior inspector of a local penal colony and offered his ‘services’ to the invaders after the area was seized.
The ruscists ‘appointed’ him to the central prison, which operated as part of the occupation ‘directorate of penitentiary service’ in Kherson region.
In the jail, the traitor guarded the cells to which the enemy brought Ukrainian patriots – members of the resistance movement.
He also participated in the convoy of victims to other russian torture chambers set up by the aggressor in the temporarily occupied part of Ukraine.
In the prisons, people were subjected to numerous forms of torture, including electric shocks, beatings with sticks and detention in solitary confinement without food and water.
After Kherson’s de-occupation, the collaborator remained in the city and was hiding from justice for a long time, almost never appearing in public.
The law enforcement found and detained him.
The perpetrator was served a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:
- 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
- 111-1.7 (collaboration).
The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kherson region jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
