In Bukovyna, the SSU Main Directorate of Internal Security in a tight cooperation with the State Bureau of Investigation have exposed a fraudster posing as a lieutenant colonel of the SSU Office.

The malefactor provided the gullible citizens with job scam in one of the SSU regional Office extorting a monetary reward of USD 10 thousand.

The scammer was detained red-handed while receiving the lump sum from the contender.

The fake lieutenant colonel turned out to be an ordinary border guard serving on a contract base and having no relation with the SSU.

A notice of suspicion under Part 3 Art. 369-2 of the CCU was served to the detainee. A type of detention is on the way to be chosen.

The additional qualification of the criminal actions stipulated by Art. 190 of the CCU is also being decided.

The operation was carried out under the Chernivtsi Specialized Defense Prosecutor's Office of the Western Region.
