SSU and SBI detain another guard of russian torture chamber that operated during Kherson occupation

In Kherson, the SSU and the State Bureau of Investigations detained another official who collaborated with russia during the occupation of the city.

The perpetrator is a junior inspector of Kherson Pre-trial Detention Center who supported the ruscists at the beginning of the full-scale war.

For this, he was ‘appointed’ as a guard in a russian torture chamber, which the enemy set up in the building of the seized detention center.

On this ‘post’, the traitor guarded the cells where the occupiers imprisoned local residents en masse. Most of the victims were members of the resistance movement in this southern region of Ukraine.

He also agitated his friends to join the russian occupation facility, promising potential candidates a ‘salary’ in rubles and support from the aggressor.

After Kherson’s liberation, the collaborator tried to evade justice and stayed in different homes.

The law enforcement established the suspect’s location and detained him. During the search, a mobile phone with evidence of the crimes was seized.

The detained individual was served a notice of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 111.2 (high treason, committed under martial law);
  • 111-1.7 (collaboration).

The suspect is in custody and faces life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Crimea Office jointly with the State Bureau of Investigations under the procedural supervision of Kherson Region Prosecutor’s Office.
