SSU and other Defence Forces practice coordinated action in case enemy sabotage groups break through Ukraine’s northern border (video)
The SSU has carried out large-scale counter-sabotage activities in one of the border districts of Rivne oblast.
In addition to in-depth checks of local population and critical infrastructure facilities, the units tested the cohesion of the Security and Defence Forces in the event of an infiltration of hostile reconnaissance and sabotage groups into to the territory of the region.
In accordance with the training scenario, a sabotage group covertly enters the city where a nuclear power plant is located, while another one takes the facility’s director’s son hostage and demands that the plant be shut down.
Using psychological pressure and death threats, the ‘saboteurs’ are forcing the hostage to persuade his father to cooperate with the aggressor state.
Law enforcers and the SSU’s special purpose unit ‘A’ neutralized the simulated enemy groups, rescued the ‘victims’ and prevented a possible technogenic disaster.
The coordination and cohesion training was held in conditions as close to real as possible. Units of the SSU, the National Police, the State Emergency Service and the National Guard took part in the drill.
