SSU and National Police detain two enemy accomplices who helped ruscists during occupation of right bank Kherson region

The Security Service of Ukraine and the National Police have apprehended two individuals who collaborated with the enemy in the temporarily occupied Kherson oblast at the beginning of the full-scale war.

They helped the aggressor repair military equipment and house russian servicemen in the homes of local people who had left the area.

One of the perpetrators is a 42-year-old resident of Myroliubivka village, who agreed to head the occupation ‘housing and communal services’.

After his ‘appointment’, he ‘re-registered’ the enterprise under the russian law and urged his fellow villagers to join this pseudo-institution.

The ‘official’ also looked for houses from which local residents had left for Ukraine-controlled territory.

Later, the occupation command used his ‘tips’ to station russian army personnel and set up ammunition depots.

Another collaborator is a 68-year-old resident of Bruskinske village, who organized a workshop for the occupiers to repair their damaged military vehicles in his yard.

He also provided the invaders with food and voluntarily helped them build fortifications.

The man visited local households and agitated residents to obtain russian passports.

After the liberation of Kherson region, he tried to lay low near Kropyvnytskyi, where he had moved as an internally displaced person. However, the SSU found and detained him in a rented apartment.

Unregistered weapons and ammunition, russian propaganda materials were seized during searches.

The detainees have been notified of suspicion under two Articles of the CCU, according to the actions each of them committed:

  • 111-2.1 (aiding the aggressor state);
  • 263.1 (illegal handling of weapons and ammunition).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 12 years in prison with confiscation of property.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Kherson Office jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
