SSU and National Police detain juvenile agents of russian intelligence who detonated explosives near Kyiv district police station

The SSU and the National Police have apprehended two juvenile enemy agents who were involved in terrorist activities by the russian intelligence services. On November 28 this year, these individuals committed a terrorist attack in Vyshhorod district, Kyiv region.

Then, on russia’s instructions, the perpetrators detonated an improvised explosive device near the building of a local police department. No one was injured in the incident.

Both terrorists were detained in hot pursuit. They are two 14-year-old residents of the community. The occupiers had remotely recruited them through Telegram channels, where the teenagers were looking for quick money.

To carry out the attack, the perpetrators used explosives, which were disguised in a thermos and kept in a cache in Kyiv region.

Following enemy instructions, they stuffed the IED with nuts and bolts to increase the impact.

Near the administrative building, where the attack was to take place, they covertly installed a mobile phone to broadcast the explosion in real time.

The terrorists used another mobile phone with a special program they received from the occupiers to blow up the bomb remotely.

The actions of the minors were directed by an employee of russian intelligence services, who disguised himself under a girl’s account and promised money in case the tasks are fulfilled. However, the assets did not receive payment from the aggressor state.

During the searches, their mobile phones and other evidence of sabotage against Ukraine were seized.

SSU investigators notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 258.2 of the CCU (terrorist act).

Despite the young age of the suspects, they face up to 12 years in prison for committing a particularly serious crime.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kyiv Region Prosecutor's Office.
