SSU and National Police detain arsonists who burned AFU vehicles in Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi regions on russia’s orders
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another two groups of arsonists who were operating in Kyiv and Khmelnytskyi. On the instructions of the occupiers, they set fire to vehicles belonging to the servicemen of the Defense Forces.
Four residents of several regions of Ukraine were detained. The individuals came to the enemy’s attention when they were looking for easy money on Telegram channels.
The perpetrators first tracked potential targets and then received approval from their russian handlers.
They came to the parking lots and set the vehicles on fire using petrol and flammable mixtures.
The arsonists recorded the fires on their phones and then sent the videos to the russians.
According to the investigation, their handlers never paid them for the arsons.
In Kyiv:
Two young men have been detained after they set fire to a van belonging to Ukrainian defenders.
They are residents of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions who came to Kyiv looking for jobs.
In the capital, they initially built shelters in kindergartens, but later started to look for easy money and began working for the enemy.
In Khmelnytskyi:
Two more arsonists were detained after they tried to destroy an off-road vehicle of the AFU. They planned to continue to carry out russian assignments in the western region of Ukraine.
The enemy accomplices are two residents of Vinnytsia region who arrived in Khmelnytskyi by train and settled in a rented apartment.
Both men were apprehended ‘red-handed’ when they were filming the burning of a military vehicle on a phone.
All detained individuals have been notified of suspicion (in accordance with the crimes committed) under two Articles of the CCU:
- 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations, during a special period);
- 194.2 (intentional damage to property by arson).
The suspects are in custody and face 8 to 10 years in prison.
