SSU and National Police detain another 4 arsonists who burned cars of military servicemen in Kyiv

In Kyiv, the Security Service and the National Police have apprehended four more accomplices of russian intelligence services who set fire to the vehicles of the Defence Forces.

These are three local men and one drug addicted woman aged 21 to 34. Two of them have already been prosecuted for theft and drug trafficking.

All of them were looking on Telegram channels for quick money. This is how the individuals came to the attention of the russian intelligence, which offered them money in exchange for cooperation.

On the enemy instructions, they searched for military vehicles and then set them on fire using flammable mixtures.

During one day, they burned two SUVs and a Multivan of Ukrainian defenders who were in Kyiv after combat missions at the front.

While at the scene of the crime, the perpetrators filmed the fire on their mobile phones to report to their handlers.

The four suspects were detained in hot pursuit, within a few hours after the arsons.

SSU investigators have notified the detainees of suspicion under Article 114-1 of the CCU (obstruction of lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period, committed by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years of imprisonment.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
