SSU and National Police detain another 6 russian accomplices who burned Ukrainian military pickups and relay cabinets in southern Ukraine

The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another six enemy agents who committed arson attacks in Odesa and Mykolaiv.

The main targets of the aggressor were military off-road vehicles of the Defence Forces and relay cabinets on the main lines of Ukrzaliznytsia [Ukrainian railways].

To commit the sabotage, russia engaged four minors and two 18-year-olds who were looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram channels. There, they were noticed by the russian intelligence.

To confirm the execution of enemy tasks, the perpetrators filmed each fire on their phones.

In Odesa:

two offenders were detained ‘red-handed’ after setting fire to the entrance traffic light cabinet on a strategic railway line.

Their accomplice was also apprehended. He helped the arsonists conduct reconnaissance near potential targets.

The perpetrators were to continue a series of arson attacks on railway infrastructure to disrupt the logistics of the Defence Forces in southern Ukraine.

In Mykolaiv:

three minors aged 13, 14 and 16 were detained for setting fire to two pick-up trucks of Ukrainian marines on russia’s orders.

The Ukrainian defenders brought the vehicles for repair to Mykolaiv after combat missions on the southern front.

Further, the minors were preparing attacks on local Territorial Recruitment Centers administrative buildings, but the law enforcement prevented this.

Based on the evidence, three persons from Odesa, including a 15-year-old resident, were served notices of suspicion under Articles 28.2, 113.2 of the CCU (sabotage, committed under martial law, by a group, upon prior conspiracy).

All of them are in custody, facing life imprisonment with confiscation of property.

The 16-year-old perpetrator from Mykolaiv was notified of suspicion under Article 114-1.1 of the CCU (obstruction of the AFU’s lawful activities). He is currently under round-the-clock house arrest and faces up to 8 years in prison.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Odesa and Mykolaiv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s offices.
