SSU and National Police detain another two russian agents who burned AFU and SBGS vehicles
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another two accomplices of russian intelligence who set fire to service vehicles of the Defence Forces in Kyiv and Cherkasy region.
The enemy targeted minibuses and combat pick-up trucks of the Armed Forces and the State Border Guard Service.
For the arsons, the occupiers remotely recruited two local young men who were looking for ‘easy money’ on Telegram.
The perpetrators first reconnoitered the locations of potential targets and then tried to burn them using flammable mixtures.
They also filmed the arsons on their phones to report to their russian handlers.
In Kyiv:
A resident of the temporarily occupied Krasnodon, Luhansk oblast, who moved to Kyiv and started working for russian intelligence, has been detained.
In early August this year, he received a ‘test’ task – to set fire to a military off-road vehicle.
However, he never received the promised money. The russian handler began to threaten the man that he would leak their correspondence to Ukrainian law enforcement.
In this way, the occupiers ‘motivated’ their asset to continue a series of arsons in Kyiv.
In Cherkasy region:
A local resident has been apprehended for setting fire to border guards’ evacuation vehicle, on russian order.
According to the investigation, the car was at a station where it was being serviced.
After conducting reconnaissance, the perpetrator put on a raincoat for disguise, arrived at the location and set fire to the car.
The law enforcement detained him in hot pursuit.
Currently, both detainees have been notified of suspicion under Article 114-1.1 of the CCU (obstructing the lawful activities of the AFU and other military formations during a special period).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 8 years in prison.
The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Kyiv and Kyiv region, in Cherkasy region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Kyiv District and Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Offices.
