SSU and National Police detain another three groups of arsonists

The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another three groups of russian intelligence agents who committed arson attacks in Dnipropetrovsk and Zakarpattia regions.

The enemy targeted vehicles and homes of the Defense Forces servicemen.

To commit arsons, the occupiers remotely recruited young men who were looking for ‘easy money’ in Telegram channels.

On the enemy instructions, the perpetrators first scouted the locations and then committed arsons, recording them on their phones.

In Kyiv:

Two residents of the capital were detained for organizing a series of arsons on the cars belonging to servicemen of Territorial Recruitment Centers of Zakarpattia region.

One of the organizers is a Kyiv recidivist who had previously served a sentence for drug trafficking. He was the one who received the order from russia to destroy the military vehicles of the AFU in the western region of Ukraine.

Together with an accomplice, he recruited several residents from Uzhhorod and Mukachevo to carry out the arson attacks on Ukrainian defenders’ vehicles.

The enemy’s next target was the private homes of the AFU servicemen and their families.

According to the instructions, the attackers were to pour a flammable mixture on the front door of the flat of a Ukrainian soldier from Zakarpattia and set it on fire.

The perpetrators were detained in hot pursuit.

In Dnipro:

Another three residents of the frontline region were detained for burning five AFU vehicles in Dnipro.

In Kryvyi Rih:

Two enemy accomplices were detained after they tried to burn a service van that the military had driven to the city after combat missions.

The law enforcement detained all the perpetrators in hot pursuit and declared them suspects under two Articles of the CCU:

  • 114-1.1 (obstruction of lawful activities of the Armed Forces and other military formations);
  • 194.2 (intentional destruction or damage to property committed by arson, explosion or other generally dangerous means).

The suspects are in custody and face up to 10 years in prison.

The operations were carried out by the SSU Offices in Dnipropetrovsk and Zakarpattia regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s offices.
