SSU and National Police detain three enemy accomplices who set fire to military vehicles in Kharkiv and Prykarpattia

The Security Service and the National Police have apprehended another three young men who, on russia’s instructions, set fire to military SUVs of the Defense Forces in several regions of Ukraine.

According to the investigation, their sabotage activities were coordinated by the russian intelligence services, who promised money for destroying vehicles of Ukrainian defenders.

The perpetrators used flammable mixtures to commit the arsons and recorded the fires on their phones to report to the russians.

In Ivano-Frankivsk region:

a 15-year-old local resident and his 18-year-old relative were detained for setting fire to three AFU off-road vehicles that were undergoing maintenance after combat missions on the front line.

The teenagers were cycling around the area, tracking vehicles of Ukrainian troops. After identifying potential targets, they took photos of them and sent them to their handler for approval.

Then, according to the handler’s instructions, the perpetrators made a flammable mixture, poured it on the vehicles and set them on fire.

In Kharkiv:

A 22-year-old contract soldier-deserter was detained. He had left his military unit without permission and was hiding in the city.

The man was actively looking for easy money on Telegram channels. On one of these, the russian intelligence noticed the young man and offered him money in exchange for arsons.

On enemy instructions, he set fire to six Ukrainian military SUVs overnight.

The law enforcement detained him as he tried to flee the scene.

Both perpetrators are in custody and face 8 to 10 years in prison.

The decision to bring to justice the minor involved is pending.

The operation was carried out by the SSU Offices in Ivano-Frankivsk and Kharkiv regions jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of the regional prosecutor’s offices.
