SSU and National Police detain enemy accomplices setting fire to military vehicles in Prykarpattia region
The SSU and the National Police have apprehended another two arsonists who burned vehicles of military servicemen in Ivano-Frankivsk.
These are a 24-year-old local resident and her 40-year-old neighbour who were looking for quick money on the Internet. The woman was approached by the russians and was offered money in exchange for cooperation.
The russian intelligence intended to target military vehicles that were undergoing maintenance in Prykarpattia after combat missions at the front.
In order not to search for and burn these cars herself, the woman engaged an accomplice. The arsonist acted in the dark, hid his face and wore protective gloves.
However, these measures did not help him. The two suspects were detained in hot pursuit after they set fire to a camouflaged van.
During the searches, the SSU seized mobile phones used by them to coordinate their criminal actions and communicate with the handler.
Based on the evidence, SSU investigators notified the detained individuals of suspicion under Article 194.2 of the CCU (intentional damage to property by arson).
The suspects are in custody and face up to 10 years in prison.
The operation was carried out by the SSU Office in Ivano-Frankivsk region jointly with the National Police under the procedural supervision of Ivano-Frankivsk Region Prosecutor’s Office.
