SSU and Prosecutor General’s Office collect evidence on participation of russia’s central bank in supporting war against Ukraine

The SSU and the Prosecutor General’s Office have collected evidence on the contribution of the central bank of russia to the preparation of an aggressive war against Ukraine and its continued support of this war.

According to the investigation and to the independent research, the head of this financial institution, Elvira Nabiullina, had been informed in advance of putin’s plans for a full-scale invasion of Ukraine and made the decisions of the central bank that ensured the military aggression.

To this end, Nabiullina changed the strategy of the central bank to support the occupation, evade sanctions imposed on russia for the invasion of Ukraine, and facilitate the financing of the russian occupation groupings.

The investigation also revealed that the funds held in the accounts of the russian central bank opened in foreign jurisdictions are actually one of the instruments of the warfare.

These are almost USD 300 billion, which, thanks to Ukraine’s international partners, are blocked on the accounts of the central bank around the world.

Based on the evidence collected by the Security Service and the Prosecutor General’s Office, this amount may be subject to confiscation in the future as funds of a legal entity that will be subject to criminal law measures, as provided by law.

Within the criminal proceedings, a new suspicion notice under Article 437.2 of the CCU (planning, preparation, unleashing and waging of an aggressive war) was served on the head of russia’s central bank Elvira Nabiullina.

The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
