The SBU Head Ivan Bakanov held a meeting with the President of the Ukrainian World Congress Pavlo Grod. The main topic was cooperation of the SBU and the UWC to counteract hybrid war against Ukraine.

“Russia’s hybrid war takes place not only in the eastern Ukraine, but also in the information space, including outside our country. Russia puts a lot of efforts to spread disinformation and to conduct influence campaigns.

Your Congress, which unites millions of Ukrainians, brings the truth to the world. It defends a clear position regarding the conflict between Ukraine and Russia,” stated Ivan Bakanov.

The SBU Head thanked the Congress for systematical work in favor of Ukraine on its way to the Euro-Atlantic integration, as well as for advocating state interests in the international arena.

The UWC President Pavlo Grod mentioned: “Counteracting Russian influencers in Ukraine and around the world remains one of our constant priorities. We are ready for further fruitful cooperation in order to protect Ukrainian interests.”

Ivan Bakanov told about the SBU’s counteraction to Russian propaganda, which is aimed at destabilization of the social and political situation in Ukraine.

“I am convinced that our work would be more efficient due to support of civil society. So, we should work together to protect Ukrainian interests,” emphasized the SBU Head.

In particular, such interaction is possible if providing unbiased information to the international community about the events in Ukraine related to Russian aggression.

The Congress may also involve leading experts on national security and counterterrorism activities in international cooperation.
