SSU and Ukrposhta unveil stamp honouring Service’s work

The SSU and Ukrposhta have presented a stamp dedicated to the SSU and its contribution to Ukraine’s defence.

This is the final issue in the heroic series Glory to Ukraine’s Defence and Security Forces! The SSU Head Vasyl Maliuk and Ukrposhta CEO Ihor Smilianskyi took part in the stamp’s special cancellation in Kyiv. The ceremony was held on the territory of the National Museum of Ukraine’s History in the WWII, which also features an exhibition of russian occupiers’ destroyed equipment and more.

‘From the first days of russia’s full-scale invasion, SSU officers have been destroying the enemy in the hottest spots and doing everything to liberate our land. Blowing up the Crimean bridge is one of our operations. I am convinced that the SSU’s unique special operations will become topics for new postal stamps,’ the SSU Head Vasyl Maliuk remarked.

He thanked the SSU’s personnel for the work and hopes that each time they are deployed for a combat mission they all come back safely to base. The memory of the fallen Heroes who have given their lives for Ukraine was honoured with a minute of silence.

The SSU Head added that stickers with the stamp would be sent to the SSU’s special purpose unit at the frontline.

‘Our warriors can put them on the ammunition they use to destroy the enemy, to send special ‘greetings’ from all Ukrainians to the occupiers. I assure you: the SSU is good at cancelling not only stamps but also invaders,’ Vasyl Maliuk summed up.

According to Ihor Smilianskyi, the stamp has a circulation of over 1 million, and after the special cancellation it can be purchased at Ukrposhta offices in all of Ukraine’s regions and online.

‘Together with the Security Service of Ukraine, we present the third and final postal issue in the heroic series Glory to Ukraine’s Defence and Security Forces! dedicated to the SSU. We are honoured to depict the SSU’s special force on the stamp – they are real heroes of our time, fighting for Ukraine’s independence and victory. Everyone sees in the news how the SSU every day exposes collaborators, derails their nefarious plans and instils fear in the enemy with constant ‘bavovna’ [meme referring to explosions],’ commented the CEO of Ukrposhta Igor Smilianskyi.

The SSU postal sets are available at Ukrposhta offices across the country, online at the official postal store, as well as on eBay and Amazon. Themed merchandise also includes an ‘SSU’ T-shirt and a set of sticker packs.
