The SSU has initiated criminal proceedings over an incident that occurred on November 12, 2022, in one of the churches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Reserve. Then, during the service in the temple, propaganda messages praising the ‘russian world’ were heard.
The investigation is carried out under Article 436-2.1 of the CCU - justification, recognition as lawful, denial of russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine, glorification of its participants.
Relevant examinations have been initiated.
Earlier, the SSU Acting Head Vasyl Maliuk said that proper response to this incident would follow.
‘Those who, amidst the full-scale war unleashed by russia against Ukraine, are waiting for the ‘awakening of mother-russia’, should understand that this harms the security and interests of Ukraine and our citizens. And we will not let such manifestations happen,’ said the SSU Acting Head Vasyl Maliuk.
The pre-trial investigation is conducted by the SSU Office in Kyiv and Kyiv region under the procedural supervision of Kyiv City Prosecutor’s Office.
