Today, the SBU paid tribute to the fallen Heroes of Ukraine Denys Volochayev and Dmytro Kaplunov in city of Kyiv. The ceremony, as well as requiem, took place at the Memorial Complex of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense.

Relatives and friends, SBU First Deputy Head Ruslan Baranetskyi and chief of the CSO “A” Serhii Dusyk, as well as colleagues from CSO “A”, attended the ceremony to honor the fallen Heroes.

That day 2019, SBU officers Denys Volochayev and Dmytro Kaplunov were killed in the armed conflict in the east of Ukraine.

They were involved in the special operation to counter subversive groups of militants, attempting to cross the contact line and enter the areas controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine and peaceful regions to carry out terrorist attacks.

The SBU colonels were posthumously awarded the titles of the national Heroes of Ukraine.
