SSU identifies russian special forces general who coordinates enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups on eastern front

The SSU has identified one of the heads of reconnaissance of the russian airborne troops, who is actively involved in military activities against the Defence Forces in eastern Ukraine.

Being a member of the occupation group, the serviceman organizes training and coordinates the activities of russian reconnaissance and sabotage groups on Donetsk direction.

Under his leadership, enemy reconnaissance and subversive groups are trying to break through the front line to conduct sabotage against Ukrainian units and critical infrastructure.

According to the investigation, the military official is a ‘hero of russia’, major general of the russian armed forces with the call sign ‘Storozh’ [watchman], who was ‘seconded’ to the ‘dnr’ terrorist organization back in 2014.

There, he was engaged in formation and combat training of russian special forces groups to conduct reconnaissance and sabotage activities against the ATO forces. To do this, he used his skills and experience from combat operations in the north caucasus.

This general commanded enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups during the capture of Sloviansk by the ‘Strelkov’s’ group and their further actions against Ukrainian troops.

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, ‘Storozh’ was instructed by moscow to organize the activity of sabotage groups, which included units of the russian airborne forces and members of the ‘dnr’ terrorist groups.

Based on the collected evidence, SSU investigators notified the russian general of suspicion of participation in a terrorist organization and facilitating its activity (Article 258-3.1 of the CCU).

The investigation is underway to detain the suspect and bring him to justice for crimes against our state.

The SSU Office in Vinnytsia Region carried out the investigation under the procedural supervision of the regional Prosecutor’s Office.
