SSU identifies two militants who participated in hostilities against ATO/JFO forces
The SSU continues its efforts aimed at exposing and bringing to justice members of illegal armed formations. The SSU has identified two more militants of the IAFs of the temporarily occupied territories, who shelled Ukrainian positions in Donetsk region.
It was established that these militants had taken an active part in warfare against the ATO units near Mariupol and Horlivka.
For shelling, they used heavy mortars, anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades and machine guns.
According to the investigation, they voluntarily joined the ranks of the so-called DNR in 2014. One of them is a militant of the currently active group DNR Slavic brigade. He is responsible for reconnaissance and gathering intelligence near the contact line.
The mercenary continues to shell positions of the JFO units.
Another militant was appointed the gunner of 120 mm mortars used in military actions against Ukrainian troops in Donetsk region.
Based on the collected evidence, the SSU investigators notified the individuals in absentia of suspicion of crime under Article 258-3.1 (participation in a terrorist group or terrorist organization) of the CCU.
The suspects are hiding from justice in the temporarily occupied territory.
The SSU is acting to bring them to justice for crimes against Ukraine’s state security.
The SSU Office in Cherkasy region carried out the pre-trial investigation under the supervision of Cherkasy Region Prosecutor’s Office.
