The SBU unveiled an interregional network of agitators who carried out hostile information operations on request of foreign special services. The perpetrators spread calls on the Internet to change the limits of the state boundaries and to overthrow the constitutional order in Ukraine.

During the investigations computers, equipment and electronic media with evidence of illegal activities were found. At present eight perpetrators have been served suspicion notices of committing crimes against national security, and two more have been sentenced to imprisonment.

In the city of Kyiv:

SBU CI officers exposed a native of the city of Donetsk who publicly agitated for the seizure of state power and joining the ranks of illegal armed groups of the so-called "DNR" and "LNR". He used his own social media accounts to spread hostile content.

The forensic linguistic examination initiated by the SBU confirmed that the distributed texts contained calls for a violent change of the current government in Ukraine.

In the city of Mariupol:

SBU cyber specialists blocked the activities of a local resident who distributed publications on changing the limits of the state boundaries of Ukraine through personal pages of banned social networks. He also called for an aggressive war.

Information on the offender’s cooperation with the Russian special services through NGO is currently being checked.

In the Sumy region:

A resident of the town of Putivl was served suspicion notice of distributing materials on the Internet calling for the overthrow of the constitutional order in Ukraine.

In the Cherkasy region:

An Internet agitator was exposed on calling for the seizure of state power and physical violence against high-ranking officials.

A resident of the region was also identified as agitating for a change in the limits of the state boundaries of our country.

In the Zakarpattia region:

The destructive internet activity of two locals was blocked. The attackers spread on social networks calls for the separation of certain territories of Ukraine with a high concentration of ethnic minorities.

In the Vinnytsia region:

The state security bodies materials helped to sentence perpetrator, exposed by the SBU on agitation for actions against the territorial integrity of our state.

The SBU continues measures aimed at detecting and blocking attempts of foreign special services to use the cyberspace to carry out subversive activities against our state.
