The SSU is acting to uncover weapon caches of the so-called ‘L/DNR’ IAFs. Such a site has been found in Luhansk region with munitions hidden underground.

The seized items include artillery shells and anti-tank mines that equal almost 40 kg of TNT.

The cache was located in Shchastynskyi district, 5 km away from the demarcation line.

According to preliminary information, the militants set up the cache in 2014 to shell Ukrainian positions and carry out subversions against energy and water supply facilities in the region.

The law enforcement seized:

• over 70 artillery shells of 30 mm caliber;
• 5 TM-62 anti-tank mines;
• 10 F-1 and RGN grenades;
• a smoke grenade.

The operation is ongoing to establish all the circumstances of illegal activity, identify and bring to justice those involved.

The SSU Main Directorate in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the activities in cooperation with the State Emergency Service.
