SBU exposes arms cache on the border with Belarus (video)

In Rivne region, SBU officers exposed the cache of military weapons and explosives during anti-terrorist exercises.

The arsenal was hidden in a forest belt near the village of Butove, located on the border with the Republic of Belarus. The cache was exposed during the testing of the border strip of the state border of Ukraine.

Special forces seized:

  • 2 RPG-26 anti-tank rocket-propelled grenades;
  • 8 RGD-5 hand grenades with fuzes;
  • 5 kilograms of explosive (previously plastid);
  • 2 magazines for AK-74;
  • 170 rounds of 5.45 and 7.62 caliber.

The seized ammunition and means of destruction were sent for examination.

Investigative actions are underway to verify data on the sources of the means of destruction, the purpose of its use, and to bring to justice all persons involved in the arrangement of the cache for the unlawful handling of weapons, ammunition or explosives.

The operation was carried out jointly with the National Police under the supervision of the Rivne Regional Prosecutor's Office.
