SSU seizes over 300 kg of TNT from caches near contact line
The SSU ensures an integrated response in order to discover arms caches of LNR and DNR IAFs, including their subversive groups. As part of these efforts, two caches were uncovered in Luhansk region.
The law enforcement seized 19 shells for large-caliber guns with a total weight of over 300 kg of TNT from a cache located in a forest near the contact line.
Another cache was located in an abandoned building in Stanychno-Luhanskyi district. The items seized included:
- 5 RGD-5 grenades,
- 4 grenade launcher rounds,
- 400 assorted rounds of ammunition.
In addition, in Luhansk region, the SSU exposed a previously convicted resident of Starobilskyi district on arms trafficking. The offender attempted to set up a clandestine channel to trade in weapons and ammunition. He was looking for clients among his contacts, including criminals.
The searches led to seizures of:
- 5 VOG-25 grenade launcher rounds,
- a sawed-off shotgun,
- over 300 firearms rounds.
The investigation is ongoing to establish all circumstances of the crime and bring the involved individuals to justice.
The SSU Main Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation jointly with the National Police and the State Emergency Service.
