SSU finds over 100 mines in liberated districts of Mykolaiv region hidden by enemy in schools

In the course of stabilization efforts in the liberated areas of Mykolaiv oblast, the SSU has uncovered large caches with russian munitions.

The seized items include hundreds of anti-tank weapons, artillery shells and combat grenades.

Enemy caches with explosives were equipped on the territory of social facilities, including hospitals and schools in the settlements that were occupied by the invaders.

As a result of extensive operational work over just two days, the SSU found in the recently liberated Snihurivka, Bashtanka district:  

  • over 200 tank shells,
  • over 100 mines,
  • 8 artillery shells and ammunition for automatic cannon,
  • 15 shells for anti-tank missile systems,
  • 13 F-1 combat grenades,
  • 4 units of automatic weapons, including machine guns,
  • over 15,000 rounds of ammunition of various calibers.

The enemy arranged weapon caches trying to create a reserve of russian occupation groups and for conducting sabotage on the southern axis.

The seized munitions have been handed over for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The SSU is acting to identify and bring to justice individuals involved in setting up enemy arsenals.

The SSU Office in Mykolaiv Region has been working on the case jointly with the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
