SBU officers of the Main Department of Internal Security exposed a lawyer who wanted to bribe an SBU employee. For money, the offender asked an SBU officer’s help in legalization of foreigners from countries with increased terrorist threat.

The SBU documented and detained the offender in accordance with Art. 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine in a restaurant while giving a part of the bribe.

The offender planned to establish permanent "collaboration" with the SBU, paying USD 400 per one legalized person.

The offender received a suspicion notice of offer, promise or giving of illegal benefit to an official.

The investigation is ongoing to identify and prosecute other officials involved in the illegal activities.

The operation was conducted by the SBU Main Department of Internal Security under the supervision of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the Military and Defense Spheres, with the assistance of the SBU Office in Cherkasy region.
