SSU exposes FSB agents in Donetsk region and Dnipro: one of them worked for enemy from jail
As a result of a multi-stage special operation, the SSU dismantled another interregional network of russian agents, who adjusted enemy fire in the front-line areas in the east and south of Ukraine.
In Donetsk region, two russian agents passed to the occupiers locations of Ukrainian troops, including combat positions of HIMARS.
The investigation established that the informants had been recruited by the FSB after the full-scale invasion. They came to attention of russian special services because of their pro-kremlin views, which they repeatedly expressed in their circle.
Both agents acted on the instructions of ‘liaisons’ from the so-called ‘ministry of state security of dnr’, who reported to russian supervisors.
The SSU detained both traitors in Pokrovsk when they tried to pass intelligence to the occupiers.
Another enemy accomplice was exposed in Dnipro. He turned out to be an inmate of one of the correctional facilities. Using a concealed mobile phone, he established contact with his accomplices at large, who provided him with the geolocation data of Ukrainian roadblocks.
The prisoner passed the data to russian special services, who recruited him through connections in criminal circles.
For helping the invaders, the prisoner hoped to be released and get a position in the occupation administration if the region is captured.
For communication, the enemy used anonymous Telegram channels and received intelligence in the form of marks on electronic maps with photos and videos of facilities.
Currently, the detained agents have been notified of suspicion under Article 114-2.2 of the CCU (unauthorized dissemination of information on transfer of weapons and military supplies to Ukraine, movement, transfer or deployment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine). The court is to decide on the measure of restraint.
The pre-trial investigation is underway.
The SSU Cyber Department and the SSU Office in Donetsk and Luhansk regions carried out the operation under the procedural supervision of the Prosecutor’s Office.
